After reading about this freshman Congressman, I am inspired and even more motivated.  His name is Jason Chaffetz from the state of Utah and his story is proof positive that convservatives can and will get elected.  You may have read a little on MSN or other outlets about the congressman sleeping in is office.  Brace yourselves, he is sleeping in his office to demonstrate that if he can be fiscally conservative, so can our government.

Mr. Chaffetz defeated a 6 term Republican incumbent, Chris Cannon.  Why did he challenge a Republican in his district?  Because, according to Mr. Chaffetz, Cannon "has failed us for not instituting conservative principles".  Oh by the way, Cannon was endorsed by President Bush, Senators Orrin Hatch and Bob Bennett as well as the Republican Party.  Chaffetz easily won the primary and general election because your average American is CONSERVATIVE and those principles work.

I was so inspired by this guy's story I reached out to his campaign director and they have responded.  They have answered a list of questions I had on how to campaign and that will be key because Mr. Chaffetz was outspent 6:1 during the campaign.  He did not go into debt and refused to buy people lunches and dinners and ran the campaign out of his home with a volunteer staff.  This is a guy I want to have lunch with.  This is the kind of person we need representing all of us.  I hope all of us conservatives, all over the U.S. are either considering a run for office or carefully considering for whom we should cast our vote.  I plan on winning in Congressional District 8 in Arizona in 2010.  I have a shiny new template to follow.

Now, for the inspirational quotes of the day from Edmund Burke:

"Nobody makes a greater mistake than he who does nothing because he could only do a little"

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"

Let's not do nothing.

This is a classic case of Republican elitists vs regular folk. RF won. Regular folk have to take over the Republican Party and if that doesn't work we can start a new one-a Regular Folks Party!

Andy G, excellent as always...I'd like information on his campaign manager for future correspondence, did you just look him up, or do you have a few ties since you're leaning hard in 2010? I admire someone like Congressman Chaffetz, with my retirement check I to will have to use my couch! As well as run my campaign from home...This shows there are real Conservatives out there! They need our support, and we must help out those on here that are looking forward to a run someday. Good luck Andy, take care over there, and God bless you too!
